In the coming weeks, former Odebrecht Chief Inspector in Peru Jorge Barata could extend his statements and provide more information about the contributions he said he had given to Jaime Yoshiyama for Keiko Fujimori's presidential campaign in 2011.
Special prosecutor Lava Jato, José Domingo Pérez Gómez, has asked to interrogate Jorge Henrique Simões Barata again.
The request lies in the office of the international judicial cooperation of the public prosecution service. Once shipped to Brazil, a date for due care will be determined.
It is expected that not many days will pass to know the day of Barata's new interrogation after the special team signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Brazilian construction company to restore coordination with the public prosecutor's office. The document was also signed by Carlos Kauffmann, the lawyer of Jorge Barata.
This is the second time that José Domingo leads Pérez Jorge Barata. In February of this year, the prosecutor traveled to Sao Paulo for the zeal in which the former representative of Odebrecht revealed that he contributed $ 1 million to the Keiko Fujimori campaign.
According to Barata, he agreed with Jaime Yoshiyama to contribute US $ 500,000 and told him to contact him again later to deliver another US $ 500,000 for Keiko Fujimori's party.
"We had several conversations and in those discussions they suggested that definition of contributions to the campaign and there, when we had the available resources, I let them know and I started making the delivery", Barata said after she was ready they four times with Keiko Fujimori in different years.
"The four times that I was with her, she always referred to a lot of formalism and distance," he said.
Barata told prosecutor Pérez that the meetings had been agreed by telephone and that Odebrecht gave him prepaid telephones that changed each year in order not to record the communication he loved. The goal was not to leave evidence of the calls; at the same time, however, he had an official telephone on behalf of Odebrecht, who should have left a record of the conversations.
The interrogation was an important diligence for the progress of the prosecutor's investigation for the annotation "raise Keiko for 500 eu fazer visita".
The time that the defense of Jaime Yoshiyama was not present, because it was not known that Barata would testify about him.
That is why the lawyer of ex-leader of Fuerza Popular, Humberto Abanto, requested cross-examination.
Prosecutor José Domingo Pérez accepted the request.
A MORE TESTIMONY
An interview that the public prosecutor has requested on his initiative is the former director of the Odebrecht Structured Operations Division, Hilberto da Silva.
In fact, it was a zeal that José Domingo Pérez had to deal with since last July, when the examination of Da Silva was frustrated.
The prosecutor had already arrived in Salvador de Bahía to conduct the interrogation. Hours later he received the news that the Brazilian authorities had withdrawn.
The decision was due to the claim of the defense of Jorge Barata, who asked that the agreement of their effective cooperation with the Peruvian Prosecution should be concluded as soon as possible.
Hilberto da Silva will be able to provide information about how the so-called & # 39; Box 2 & # 39; exploited and illegal money was transferred to Peruvian officials and politicians. He is one of the exejecutives of Odebrecht who has accepted the award praised in Brazil.
Da Silva worked at the office of structured operations and was one of those who manage the accounts of offshore companies that were used to pay bribes.
Last year he provided a flowchart to the Attorney General of the Republic of Brazil, showing how payments were made by the structured area of operations.
CONTACT WITH KEIKO
Da Silva's statement will serve to confirm and give details of what Jorge Barata says, who said that, in the case of Keiko Fujimori, Hilberto da Silva called him. "He contacted me and said, hey, I have so many thousands of dollars, two hundred, three hundred, four hundred thousand dollars already available, I'm going to do the delivery tomorrow or the day after tomorrow … On Friday, the & # 39; resource & # 39; get there, "he said.
He explained that on the day of delivery of the money someone on behalf of Da Silva came to his office and gave him a suitcase with money. "With that means there, I would plan with the candidate, the party," he said.❧

- The public prosecutor, José Domingo Pérez Gómez, rejected the request of the defense of Fuerza Popular to question the witness Segundo Crisanto Pulache again, who denied contributing to the campaign of Keiko Fujimori's party in 2011, despite the fact that he appears as a contributor in the administration of the National Office for Electoral Processing (ONPE).
- Perez Gomez based his decision on the assertion that the defense of Fuerza Popular, represented by lawyer Juan Carlos Alarcón, had the opportunity to question Crisanto Pulache during the hearing of expected evidence, which he had made in the National Criminal Investigation Department on 9 August.
- Through legal telephone interception, it turned out that two leaders of Fuerza Popular called him constantly to change his version.
