MEM advocates the construction and exploitation of nine electrical projects in Peru economy



With a view to the efficient development of the electrical system, the Ministry of Energy and Mines (MEM) yesterday approved the Transmission Plan 2019 – 2028 and called for the construction and operation of nine projects in different regions of Peru.

The Transmission Plan 2019 – 2028 is the periodic survey which, by means of a centralized analysis, identifies the requirements for the transmission equipment necessary to maintain or improve the quality, reliability, safety or economy of the system for a horizon of up to ten years.

The plan that was designed for the period 2019-2028 advised the realization of nine transmission works, taking into account various possible scenarios for the expansion of energy generation and the growth of future demand.

The MEM resolution states that the companies and investors interested in building and operating facilities included in the binding projects of the transport plan 2019-2028 have a non-renewable period of thirty calendar days to increase their interest in the construction and the exploitation of said facilities. .

In accordance with the provisions of Article 4 of the Transmission Regulation, the MEM then selects the agent who is authorized to request the final concession of the project.
