Minister of Justice, Menardo Guevarra, the & # 39; Officer-in-Charge & # 39; (OIC), while President Rodrigo Duterte is on a historic trip to Israel and Jordan this week, said the president's president, Harry Roque, on Sunday.
Duterte signed Special Order 918 on Friday whereby Guevarra was delegated as the OIC of the country.
"Ministry of Justice (DOJ) Secretary Menardo I. Guevarra will act as OIC for day-to-day operations in the president's office and oversee the general administration of the executive department," Duterte said in his order.
The president left the country on Sunday afternoon to begin his back-to-back official state visit to Israel and Jordan.
Duterte will visit Israel from 2 to 5 September, which will be the first time that a Philippine president will visit the Holy Land since diplomatic ties between the two nations were established in 1957.
