A 39-year-old guard was shot dead by an unknown gunner at Singson Village in Barangay Tipolo, Mandaue City on Thursday (23 August) at 7 o'clock in the morning.
The victim was identified as Wendelou Paciencia, who was declared dead on the spot after gunshot wounds on his body and head.
SP01 Ricardo Petiluna of Subangdaku police station said the shooter, who wore a surgical mask, approached Paciencia and shot him several times.
He then fled the area aboard a motorcycle with another unidentified man who waited for the shooter a few meters from the crime scene.
At least five empty sleeves of a .45 caliber pistol were recovered from the crime scene.
The police are now carrying out a study to identify the suspects and the motive of the murder.
