NTC cuts off the telephone signal in CDO for fiesta protection

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY (MindaNews / 25 August) – The whole city has no signal from a mobile phone for four to six hours a day from Saturday to Tuesday, after the National Telecommunication Commission has ordered the telecommunications providers to suspend their services in order to the St. Augustine fiesta celebration.

Maricel Casino-Rivera, city information officer, said: "It is a standard safety measure for the NTC to order the failure for the fiesta events," said Casino.

NTC let the local government unit know that the signal from the mobile phone crashes from 3 pm onwards. Saturday until after the coronation of the Miss Cagayan de Oro 2018 in the evening.

In its note sent to Globe and Smart companies, the NTC also suspended their services during the Carnival Street Parade Higalaay Festival from Sunday 26 August to 15.00 and during the Float and Civil Military Parade from 7.00 to 12.00. afternoon on Monday 27 August.

There will be no mobile signal during the religious procession of the statue of St. Augustine in the early morning of the feast day on Tuesday, August 28th.
