The Department of Transportation (DOTr) announced on Monday that the construction of the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX), which is expected to relieve the EDSA because it can keep approximately 1,000 provincial buses off the road, is almost complete.
In a Facebook message, the DOTr said that the first intermodal transport terminal is already 96% ready, with only the online ticket and booking system and RFID tagging of buses that are not yet ready.

"GOOD NEWS: The construction of the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) is now 96% FULL!" Said the DOTr.
The department added that the project aims to provide "seamless interconnectivity of the different modes of transport of the neighboring provinces south of Metro Manila to ensure a safe, convenient and trouble-free travel experience for the commuting public."
The DOTr said earlier that the PITX can also transport 200,000 passengers per day.
Passenger terminal buildings, arrival and departure ports, public information systems, ticketing and baggage handling facilities and park-ride facilities were also integrated into the terminal. / ee
