Tropical depression & # 39; Luis & # 39; leave PH, improve & # 39; habagat & # 39; – Pagasa

The south-western monsoon or "habagat" will still be strengthened by the abolition of the tropical depression "Luis" from the Philippine responsibility domain (PAR), the Philippine atmospheric geophysical and astronomical services (Pagasa) said on Saturday.

Luis left the PAR on Friday night and was last spotted at 595 kilometers north-northwest of the extreme north of Luzon from 3 o'clock on Saturdays.

Pagasa said that Luis moves north-northeast with a speed of 8 kilometers per hour (km / hour). Luis has a maximum continuous wind of 45 km / h and a gust of 70 km / h.

Pagasa said that even with the exit of Luis the tropical depression will strengthen the monsoon in the southwest and will dump the monsoon rains over the Ilocos region, the Cordillera administrative region, Batanes, the Babuyan Group of Islands, Zambales and the Bataan provinces.

The state weather agency warned the residents in the aforementioned areas to be ready for possible flooding and landslides due to dispersed moderate to heavy rains.

Meanwhile Metro Manila, the rest of Central Luzon and of the Cagayan Valley, Calabarzon and Mindoro will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms, also caused by the southwest monsoon.

The rest of the country has a partly cloudy to cloudy sky with isolated rain showers, Pagasa adds.

The weather agency also reported a low-pressure area at 910 km northeast of Basco, Batanes, which is likely to have the intensity of a tropical depression in the next two days. / musty
