Cebu City (CNN Philippines, 25 August) – In a period of eight hours two people were killed by armed men in two separate incidents in Cebu City.
Junko Hamada, a 71-year-old Japanese businesswoman, was shot dead by two motor-skating attackers on busy N. Bacalso Avenue at 7:15 PM. on Friday.
Her car was soaked with bullets by the suspects, who still had to identify the police. According to the police, Hamada, president of the Beams Philippines Export Corp., resided at Barangay Capitol Site.
Around 3 am Rodilo Fornoles, 40, was shot in Barangay Tejero, also in Cebu City.
According to the police, the victim was chased by an armed unidentified suspect near his home in Sitio Villagonzalo Dos.
The police say there are investigations about the incidents that were the last in the wave of murders in Cebu City.
During the first two weeks of August, two drug agencies were shot in the city.
