Typhoon outside of PAR influencing Luzon, Visayas

The trench of Typhoon "Jebi" (international name) will bring scattered rain showers over the southern part of Luzon and Visayas, the Philippine administration of atmospheric, geophysical and astronomical services (Pagasa) said Sunday.

According to the weather office, Jebi was last seen at 1,515 km east of Basco, Batanes, outside of the Philippines' responsibility.

It had a maximum sustained wind of 205 kilometers per hour (km / hour) and wind gusts up to 255 km / hour.

Jebi moves the north-westerly direction at a speed of 20 km / h.

As a result, the areas Calabarzon, Bicol Region, Mimaropa and Visayas will have a cloudy sky with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms.

Pagasa also warned the residents of affected areas to be extra careful against possible flooding and landslides due to heavy thunderstorms.

Meanwhile Metro Manila and the rest of the province have a partly cloudy to cloudy sky with isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms. / CBB
