At least 10 minutes are saved by drivers who drive from Lublin to Radom. On 22 August 2018, the connection between the S12 motorway and the Kurów Zachód junction on the S17 to the Vistula bridge in Puławy was completed. For example, the first part of the Puławy ring road was opened in July 2008 with the S17 motorway for use in 2013.

Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, Minister of Infrastructure Andrzej Adamczyk and General Director of National Roads and Highways Jacek Gryga participated in the move to the movement.

– The road being used today is safe, comfortable and predictable during the journey. Thanks to the engineers and all employees, thanks to the involvement of this 12 kilometer route, said the Minister of Infrastructure Andrzej Adamczyk.

As part of the construction, part of a new two-lane route with a length of approx. 10.5 km has been created. On the 1.4 km long route a second lane was added to the existing next to the viaduct over the railway line. Among others, the following were established: Puławy Azoty, Puławy Wschód and Końskowola, four road viaducts, three bridges along the motorway, animal transitions and access roads for local traffic.

The value of this investment amounted to approximately PLN 309 million. The route was carried out by a consortium of Energopol Szczecin and Przedsiębiorstwo Robót Drogowych Zwoleń.

The implementation of the investment was co-financed by the EU funds, from the Infrastruktura i Środowisko 2014-2020 program, as part of the project "Construction of the S17 Garwolin – Kurów motorway". The value of this project is approximately PLN 2.2 billion, of which the EU contribution is almost PLN 1.2 billion.
