The criterion change of income is enforced by raising the minimum wage. Some people who now benefit from the 500-plus advantage in 2019 may not receive it – because of too high wages.
500 plus a new income criterion – Rafalska wants safety for families
The correlation is simple: the higher the minimum wage, the more families should fall from the "Family 500 plus" program.
What is the 500-plus income criterion at present?
The criterion of 500 plus income is calculated for the first child. It is respectively:
- PLN 800 for one family member,
- PLN 1200 in the case of raising a disabled child.

Elżbieta Rafalska confirms the changes in the 500plus program
Elżbieta Rafalska in an interview with PAP confirmed that it will be necessary to make changes with regard to the income criterion 500 plus:
We absolutely do not want a situation where a family of two, in which one of the parents earns the minimum wage, loses the right to provide the "Family 500 plus". If the minimum wage grows so fast that it forms a barrier to access to this benefit, the criterion must of course be increased. That is what we analyze in 2019.
