Alexander Albon, in turn, crashed 15 off the Sakhir circuit in second practice for the Bahrain GP. The Red Bull Racing car was badly damaged – three of the four wheels were broken, the front and rear wings were damaged. Many aerodynamic parts are only suitable for the basket.

Most importantly, however, Albon left the incident unharmed, as the Thai driver hit the barriers at high speed. – I feel fine. I’ve had several such accidents – said the “red bulls” driver, whom he calls “Motorsport”, in the distance.

Taj is aware that his accident looked terrifying. However, he holds a grudge against himself for not defending himself in this situation. – It was one of those situations I should have saved. I was surprised by the lack of grip. Quite a difficult and unusual turn, and such a bad looking accident. I absolutely did not laugh. It’s good that I’m okay anyway – he added.

– At one point I gave up, but it wasn’t enough. If one tire has tremendous traction and the other doesn’t, then such punctures happen. It is what it is – said the 24-year-old.

Red Bull executives called Albon’s accident ‘frustrating’. Undoubtedly the Taj did not help itself in the battle for a place on the team for the 2021 season. He didn’t use a gearbox for the race, but the mechanics still have a lot of work to do, ” said Christian Horner, CEO of Red Bull.

– It is difficult to calculate the financial losses resulting from this accident. It is certainly a considerable amount, because the car was pulled over with barriers. The rear wing is broken, the front wing, the nose, the wheels, Horner added.

Sergio Perez is the candidate to replace Albon at Red Bull in the 2021 season. A decision on this issue will not be taken until after the end of this year’s campaign.
