This is the end of the last Polish match factory. After 100 years of operation, the factory in Czechowice-Dziedzice will be closed. The decision to liquidate Zapałkownia was taken at an extraordinary general meeting of shareholders – will inform “Gazeta Wyborcza”.

“The decision was made because of the difficult economic situation of the plant, caused by the declining demand for matches and the difficulties associated with the Covid-19 epidemic,” the company said in a press release.
