Alentejo has four new photovoltaic installations

Four new photovoltaic installations are being installed in the Alentejo region, according to Público. The four new factories, without government subsidies, are being created in the municipalities of Ourique, Aljustrel, Évora and Nisa, "in an investment of more than 110 million euros", the promoter reveals.

According to the company "the photovoltaic plants produce the equivalent of the average annual consumption of almost 60 thousand houses".

In Ourique it is expected that the work of the new plant will start "at the end of this year, in an area of ​​120 hectares". The equipment has a "total installed capacity of 50 MW". According to the promoter, this installation must be fully operational in the "second quarter of 2019".

In Messejana, in the municipality of Aljustrel, the other factory has "an area of ​​10 hectares with an installed capacity of 10 MW" and should also be completed in the second quarter of next year.

In Nisa, in the Portalegre district, is "the permit for construction, in an area of ​​115 hectares, with a total installed capacity of 50 megawatts (MW)." The company expects the project to be completed "in the third quarter of 2019".

A photovoltaic power plant is already being built in Évora in an "80 hectare antenna with an installed capacity of 25 MW". The factory is already under construction. The company expects to be operational by the end of this year.

According to the public, "the four photovoltaic plants will produce about 270 gigawatt hours (GWh) of energy per year."
