Fernando Medina, mayor of Lisbon, says in an interview with Expresso that instruments such as gold visas or legislation favorable to non-ordinary residents of Lisbon "must be reviewed in the light of the new reality." The mayor believes that these mechanisms are not central to the housing problem in Lisbon, because "these people are essentially looking for the historic center of the city and the housing problems are much greater than in these areas", but it is preferable that they were flexible and that "are not, they have to be well thought out".
