Mozambican economic climate registers the fourth consecutive autumn

"The confidence in the economy, expressed by the Economic Climate Indicator (ICE), recorded a slight fall in August, "says the document, with an index of 96.8 compared to 101.5 in July.

"This has contributed to the deterioration of the" job forecast "indicator, which has been going on for more than three months, as well as the slight drop in the" expectation of demand "indicator compared to the previous month," added INE.

In the sector, the result was the most pessimistic assessment of the industrial production, construction, non-financial and commercial services sectors, in contrast to more optimistic responses to housing, catering and similar activities, transport and storage.

The indicators for confidence and economic climate are a monthly publication on the economic situation in Mozambique, compiled on the basis of the monthly overview of the situation INE has gone through to companies in the non-financial sector.

"The study expresses the opinion of market participants about the evolution and perspective of their activities, particularly in the fields of employment, demand, orders, prices, production, sales and activity limitations," INE explains.
