Nurses mark national strike for 20 and 21 September – observer

Nursing unions marked a national strike on 20 and 21 September after a meeting with the UGT and a lack of government proposals for careers.

The six trade unions had scheduled a meeting for Wednesday to analyze the government's counter-proposal, but in the absence of the document, the meeting needed to coordinate forms of struggle.

The strike was called by all nurses' unions: Union of Portuguese nurses, Bond of nurses, Independent Union of nurses, Democratic Union of nurses from Portugal, Portuguese union of nurses and Union of nurses from the autonomous region of Madeira.

This Wednesday the representatives of the six structures will meet with the staff of the Order of Nurses, Ana Rita Cavaco, about the career negotiations.
