Schools and citizens will win prizes for recycling

The investment comes from EGF, a waste processing and recovery company, with the support of the POSEUR, operational program for sustainability and resource efficiency of the European Commission. According to the company, this is one of the largest national investments in education and environmental awareness.

According to a statement from the company, there are four environmental education initiatives around the country, based on the idea that those who have good environmental performance are awarded, namely if it is a good waste recycler, and involves schools in trade, along the citizen.

One of the projects for everyone is Recycle Bingo & # 39 ;, with which those who go to the ecoponto to deliver packages are rewarded via an application that is installed in the mobile phone. This is a kind of game in which, when it is recycled, the blocking is removed from what the company & # 39; ecogifts & # 39; mentions with which a card can be filled. Once filled, the card entitles you to virtual coins that can be exchanged for, for example, cinema tickets. The application can now be downloaded.

Another initiative that has already started is Ecoeventos, which aims to support, certify and recognize good environmental practices at festivals, festivals, races, pilgrimages and sporting events. Events such as Rock in Rio, Tides Vivos, Expofacic, Boom Festival or Sol da Caparica were already Ecoeventos.

Two weeks ago, the "trade to recycle" initiative started in Lisbon, in fact actions to raise the awareness of 26,000 businesses. And next month, with the beginning of the lessons, ecovalor & # 39 ;, starts another action of environmental awareness and promotion, but then dedicated to schools, rewarding good behavior.

In this case, each bag of plastic, metal and beverage packages delivered to a school receives 50 cents and the best schools in each municipality receive a higher premium.

These initiatives are in line with another presented at the beginning of the month, namely the exchange of packaging used for card discounts in a supermarket chain.

EGF source explained to Lusa that the basic idea is the same, to reward those who recycle the most, namely that the one that includes the packaging of 15 supermarkets is a test that ends on 2 October, in contrast to the others released today , no date to finish.
