The French filmmaker Marceline Loridan-Ivens, a survivor of the Holocaust, died in Paris Tuesday at the age of 90, according to the lawyer of the family.

Marceline Loridan lived in the camp of Auschwitz-Birkenau with Simone Veil, a prominent figure in French political life and champion of a law that decriminalized voluntary termination of pregnancy in France.

The filmmaker, producer and writer, who was deported to a Polish concentration camp at the age of 15, was known for denouncing her whole life of injustice and violence.
