This is the second selection campaign of the Tudorel Toader Institute for DNA leadership after the Minister of Justice announced that none of the four candidates taking part in the first round would meet the necessary conditions.
"I checked in yesterday morning (yesterday) at the Personnel Department and so far, when we were talking, no candidate was enrolled", said Tudorel Toader, quoted by Mediafax.
According to the program announced by the Ministry of Justice, the list of candidates who meet the legal conditions for participation will be shown at the headquarters of the Ministry and published on its website on 29 August 2018. Prosecutors participating in the selection are expected to hold an interview with Tudorel Toader between 3 and 5 September 2018, and the results will be announced on 6 September.
After the withdrawal of Laura Codruta Kovesi, the interim was taken over by the DNA by the prosecutor Anca Jurma.
Initially, four candidates were registered for the DNA chief, but were rejected on 27 July because no one had met the required conditions.
"In the management program or during the interview, no candidate provided sufficient evidence on the basis of an analysis of the current situation, which would then allow for an objective and transparent process of assessing management performance," said Tudorel Toader on 27 July. The four rejected candidates were Florentina Mirica (head of the DNA section), Elena Grecu (DNA Constanta), Marius Iacob (deputy DNA) and Cristian Lazar (deputy attorney general).
