"The whole city has been emotionally struck by the loss of this impressive building, and the City Hall of Oradea, together with the Greek Catholic diocese, will open an account for raising funds to restore this monument to the city. will be financially involved in this attempt to reconstruct the Greek-Catholic Episcopal Palace, "according to the Facebook message.

Representatives of the municipality thanked the firefighters who were involved in reducing the consequences of the devastating fire, but also of people.

"We would like to thank the firefighters from the Crişana Emergency Situation Inspection who also acted for the citizens and for the involvement", the message says.

The City Hall of Oradea also publishes a picture of the building of the Greek-Catholic Episcopal Palace as it looked for the fire. The building is exceptionally beautiful and the façade has just been restored.

More than a hundred firefighters intervened Saturday night to end the violent fire including the palace of the Greek-Catholic episcopate of Oradea, a monumental building built in Baroque style.

Firefighters have managed to prevent the fire from spreading on the ground floor of the building, even though they have been destroyed or damaged by the attic and the floor combustion.

Aciperisul was completely destroyed, the fire affected more than 1,300 square meters.

For the time being there is no known cause of fire outbreak and pagodas have not been evaluated. Representatives of the episcopate told the press that there were extremely valuable objects inside.
