Several dozens of people gathered for the prosecutor general's office on the square in front of the constitution on Saturday to show their support to the Gendarmerie in the context of the August 10 demonstration. At the same time, several demonstrators in the Arc de Triomphe showed a banner with the message: "You will not come here".
The people gathered in the square in front of the constitution and demanded the resignation of the Attorney General Augustin Lazar and called slogans such as "Honor them to the gendarmes!", "Prosecutors defend only the criminals!", "Long live the gendarmerie!" "Klaus Iohannis do not forget – yours!", "Bush prosecutors, give up your resignation!".
Some demonstrators carried sheets with the message "Respect the Romanian Gendarmerie" and flowers.
The demonstration has the title "Respect the Romanian Gendarmerie".
The event took place in the context in which military prosecutors opened a case in which criminal prosecution was instituted for committing violations of abuse, misuse of service and negligence in the service of how gendarmes intervened during the August 10 protest.
While the pro-gendarmerie was being held on the square in front of the constitution, several protesters sent a new message to the Romanian gendarmerie under the Arc de Triomphe. They had a banner with the message "You will not come here."
The gendarmes tried to get them out of the Arc de Triomphe, because the monument was closed for public access.
