Five Saudi women have been licensed to work as "captains" to run civil aviation aircraft.
The General Civil Aviation Authority said Monday that this comes within the framework of empowering Saudi women to work in the aviation sector, one of the strategies of the World Aviation Organization (ICAO).
It noted that there were gender education institutions and that they supported and promoted the employment of women in the aviation sector.
Recently, a number of women have been hired by the Commission or service companies in the technical field.
The historic decree in Saudi Arabia, in which Saudi Arab women have received a driving license in Saudi Arabia, has recently entered into force. This event is a major asset for Saudi women, as long as it is claimed by various human rights organizations.
