Today's mobile payment service

The Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency (SAMA) today announced the operation of its mobile payment service through the activation of its digital portfolio.

Sama said through her official account on Twitter that this was part of a step to develop and digitize the e-commerce sector.

She pointed out that this achievement was led by the Saudi Arabian monetary agency and the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology represented by the Digital Transformation Unit.

It is noteworthy that this step fits within the framework of a national program aimed at countering reluctance by requiring companies to make payments through electronic payment methods that SAMA aims to achieve.

As of April 2018, SAMA has authorized banks operating in the Kingdom to offer online payment and purchase services to all Mada cardholders after completing the technical and technical testing of the service.
