Earth will witness a crescent eclipse today (Monday), the fourth and last of the year 2020, and will last 4 hours and 21 minutes. According to the head of the Astronomical Society in Jeddah, engineer Majed Abu Zahra, a semi-shadow eclipse occurs when the moon moves through the faded outer part of Earth’s shadow (the penumbra), dimming the light slightly. Abu Zahra added on his Facebook page that the eclipse will begin with the moon entering the Earth’s half shadow region at 10:32 a.m. KSA time, while the full moon moment will arrive at 12:29 a.m. Earth is said to witness a total solar eclipse within two weeks.
