Dakar, Nov. 30 (APS) – The Ministry of Health and Social Action on Monday announced 14 new coronavirus (Covid-19) infections recorded in the past twenty-four hours.
The new infections were discovered after 722 tests for a positivity rate of 1.94%, said prevention director Dr. El Hadji Mamadou Ndiaye, who presented the daily report of the Covid-19 pandemic in Senegal. .
They consist of five contact cases, followed by the Department of Health and Social Action, and nine cases resulting from community transfer.
Infections for which the source of transmission is unknown are from Grand-Dakar (1), Keur Massar (1), Liberté 6 (1), Mamelles (1), Mermoz (1), Ngor (1), Nord-Foire ( 1), Pété (1) and Point-E (1).
No deaths have been recorded in the past 24 hours, said Dr. Ndiaye, announcing that 10 patients have tested negative and declared cured.
Six serious cases are handled in intensive care units.
Senegal has registered 16,089 positive cases of Covid-19 since March 2, the date the disease started in its territory, including 15,607 cured and 333 deaths. One hundred forty-eight patients are still under treatment.
