The Ministers of Justice of Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, Nela Kuburović and Josip Grubeš, visited today the newly built Penitentiary in Pančevo, which will work until the end of the year.
Nela Kuburović said that the Ministry of Justice has announced that the new institute is among the most modern prisons in Serbia, that it has the capacity to accommodate 500 people, and that the complex consists of 10 buildings with a total area of 24,000 square meters.
She said that the Institute was built within two years from the funds of the Council of Europe Development Bank, adding that it will employ about 250 people, 170 of which will be newly recruited.
Josip Grubeša explained that one of the reasons for the visit to Serbia is to get acquainted with the technical conditions of the new prison, taking into account the fact that the first state prison for the accommodation of more than 350 people will also soon have to be in Sarajevo. be opened.
Grubeša added that the experience of Serbia, that is to say the beginning of the institution's work in Pančevo, which is very similar in structure and function to the future confinement of BiH, is of great importance for the Ministry of Justice of BiH.
Nela Kuburović and Grubeša agreed that the Ministries of Justice of Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina have good cooperation that is being realized at all levels.
