LJUBLJANA – Merkator Group achieved a net profit of EUR 8.9 million in the third quarter of 2018, EUR 19.4 million more than in the same period last year.
Profit before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) reached 86.8 million euros from January to the end of September, 24.7 percent more than a year earlier, the Makator Group reported today.
The operating result (EBIT) rose to 35.8 million euros in nine months.
"Dibit from operating activities improved significantly and came to 35.8 million euros in the first nine months of 2018, an increase of 21.8 million euros compared to the same period last year." Merkator Group generated 1.6 billion euro in sales, which is more than 1.6 percent ", says Tomislav Cizmic, chairman of the Board of Directors of the Merkator Group.
The operating results impacted the reduction of Merkator's debt to EUR 738.3 million, or 11.2 percent, or EUR 93.3 million less than the debt recorded in the same period of 2017.
Slovenia and Serbia, where the Group returned 0.8 percent and 1.1 percent revenue growth compared to last year, remain the main markets for Merkator Group's activities, the statement said.
