To be honest, maybe someone can remain indifferent when he sees the real "fic". But according to the models of this car – made by Dusan Jaksic – difficult.
This Smederevac himself says that he has not made the most perfect replica of the popular "flag 750".
Nevertheless, the time in which it was made (gloomy nineties) and all the ways in which the then high school student dictated Dusan to finish it, these "fiće" models have a special stamp, and it has no price. for its creator.
"They also offered me the money for him, but I will not separate from my & # 39; fi & # 39; otherwise I love & # 39; fic & # 39; I have a real", says Dusan.
Asked what was the most difficult for him, he answers:
"Nothing was difficult for me, it was all interesting and challenging – to find a way to play a role in the days when there were not so many things available, I liked to tackle problems and to improvise.
I have made a kind of game of every piece of work. How do you make a cable for example? I take the PTT cable, pull the copper out, unload the cable from the bike, attach a cable, pull through the cable insulation and take a cable with a busbar. There are many more such examples. The design of this model lasted from September 1992 to March 1994, but it is difficult to say exactly how many working hours there were. I worked all day, sometimes only one afternoon … "
Many are very happy at first sight. But only when they learn the whole story – what time and under which circumstances the model was made, with how much will, enthusiasm and love for cars, with how much effort and dedication to detail, it is only then possible to understand why this model is so special B92.
When you discover that in those years younger Dusan could make details of motor and cabin that will act authentically, you realize that this could not be realized without much love for cars.
"Otherwise, I have made some models for this & # 39; fiće & # 39; & # 39; opel olympia & # 39; 1957, & # 39; Chevrolet Beler & # 39; from 1957 (the decision fell after the movie & # 39; Dirty dance & # 39; in which Patrick Chevy controls this car) and & # 39; Cadillac Eldorado & # 39; from 1960. However, they are all made in 1:43 scale, and the & # 39; fiesta & # 39; in the ratio 1:11 – it can be said that it is technically the most advanced. & # 39;
"The body is self-contained – I made the skeleton first, the basic profiles, the profile of the connection between the front and the center profile, the rear transverse direction and the rear were made of a galvanized sheet with a thickness of 0.5 mm. Front and rear inner construction, as well as bottom are made of cardboard with a thickness of 1.0 mm, then I have the half circles, the roof, the wings, the front hitch …
I made outer panels of ultra thin paper in five layers, glued with wood glue (the so-called paper mass technique). Each panel is made separately. I made a mold for their design using the drawings in the orthogonal projection, then made a cardboard skeleton, filled it with plaster and worked. The interior reinforcements of the door, side and roof panels are made of wood, while I used an aluminum plate of 0.8 mm to strengthen the boot lid and the hood. "
He insisted that the door and the hood could be closed.
"Doors contain 0.3 mm thick plate hinges and have an opening / closing mechanism, so to see the interior, you have to pull the door handle and open the door like a real car, as does the rear cover or the bonnet. To open the front cover (luggage compartment) – pull the lever under the instrument panel, a spare wheel, a fuel tank and a brake fluid reservoir with the correct installation. "
We arrive at the engine, which is also very interesting.
"Engine compartment – engine and cardboard block, motor head and wooden valve cover, same as carburetor, fuel pump, water pump and exhaust pipe, cooler, fan and cardboard pulleys, exhaust pipe of paper in layers and PVC pipes with a diameter of 3 mm, compaction vessel of a cooling system of plastic formed by a hot process in a mold, a distributor of wood burning … "
As he closes his last hood, Dusan continues to explain how he has produced various details.
"Branches are made of wood, covered with aluminum foil, sheet metal wipers (0.3 mm) and rubber, PVC foil (0.3 mm) glass, cardboard glass, cardboard boxes, covered with aluminum and PVC foil, decorative roses from copper plate (0.5 mm), coated aluminum foil Plastic discs formed by the hot process in the mold and colored inside, have a rubber seal to the body. "
"The cab – the roof of the leather roof, the seats have a copper structure covered with a black plush wallpaper – front seats functional – go back under the coated bordo-black velvet A copper steering wheel with a combined switch for transmissions The front panel has a PVC lining and is decorated with aluminum frames, equipped with a main switch for lights and a pixel, cardboard board with speedometer, temperature indicators and quantity of fuel. "
"Suspension is particularly interesting The front is independent, 100% functional Leaf spring (spring) made of steel-elastic sheet (from an alarm coil) in three layers, connected by rivet and secured with 1 mm screws for the chassis. made of galvanized sheet steel, galvanized sheet steel with copper wheel axle Trap elements are interconnected by 1.5 mm screws and nuts Copper binders The wheels move left and right but the steering wheel is not functional It could have been – the problem was when technically requested, because of the lack of necessary materials and parts.
The last suspension is independent, 100 percent functional. Galvanized steel plate with copper shafts and coil springs with a diameter of 10 mm – connected by chassis beams and secured by soldering. Wheels can be removed. The tires are & # 39; finished product & # 39 ;, while the wheels and hubcaps are made. & # 39;
"At the end of 1993 there was a competition for car models for the 100th SAT show, I had a different model from & # 39; fiće & # 39; from 1964, which was not as detailed and precise, I sent it and hoped for a reward. They have awarded the first, second and third prize to other works, to my disappointment, but then the surprise – I got a special prize outside the competition, because my model was done much better, "Dusan remembers.
In March 1994 he was invited to an auto show to present his award-winning model. However, he brought this new model, which was very well received. He exhibited at the fair in the coming years.
He received the prize from the factory "Zastava", where he was invited to watch the entire production process and visit her Institute for Development.
The last time in 2003 he exhibited a model at the fair, for the company "fića" – "National Class" from Zemun. Dusan also has a real "fic", older than him for several years, where he attended numerous meetings, visited Serbia, Bosnia, Croatia …
They were invited as an association on the occasion of the centenary of the arrival of the first car in Serbia.
Unfortunately, the Club "National Class" no longer exists. The rest are other clubs of fans and many enthusiasts, such as Dusan Jaksic, thanks to which "fića" is still alive.
