Captured truck driver saved by SCDF after accident in Tuas



SINGAPORE: On Tuesday, August 28, a 34-year-old truck driver was rescued by the Singapore Civil Defense Force (SCDF) after being locked up in a vehicle after an accident with the truck and a trailer.

The accident occurred at the intersection of Tuas Avenue 8 and Jalan Ahmad Ibrahim around 2.30 pm, SCDF said.

A video that circulated online showed a white truck along the side of the road with the truck cab seriously damaged.

Kanaal NewsAsia understands that both vehicles are on the same lane when the truck hit the trailer from behind.

SCDF personnel tried to dislodge the broken door on the driver's side of the truck in the video.

The truck driver was trapped and had to be rescued by the SCDF using hydraulic tools.

A passenger in the truck, a 25-year-old man, suffered minor injuries.

Both men suffered leg injury and were transferred to the National University Hospital.

Police investigations are under way.
