E-scooter driver brought to hospital after being overthrown by a truck in Sengkang, Singapore News & Top stories

SINGAPORE – A 34-year-old e-scooter driver was taken to hospital after being hit by a truck in Sengkang on Monday (27 August).

The police said they were warned of an accident with a truck and an e-scooter at 9.47 am at the intersection of Sengkang East Road and Sengkang Square.

According to the Chinese newspaper Lianhe Wanbao, the woman was on her way back from buying groceries on the market. She had put her e-scooter at a traffic junction and waited for the road to cross when she was hit by the truck.

An eyewitness told Wanbao that the woman's arms and legs were bleeding and she could not move.

He added that the driver of the truck immediately after the accident drove out his vehicle and cared for the woman. The driver seemed unharmed.

The woman was aware when she was taken to the Khoo Teck Puat hospital. The Straits Times understands that her injuries were not serious.

Police investigations are under way.
