The Ghana Investment Promotion (GIPC) is expected to lead a 50-piece trade delegation from Ghana to the Africa Singapore Business Forum (ASBF), which will be billed to resign in Singapore from 28-29 August this year.

The Africa Singapore Business Forum (ASBF) is the most important platform for business exchange and stimulating trade between Africa and Asia.

Organized by Enterprise Singapore, the forum brought together more than 2,000 corporate and government leaders from 30 countries to explore partnerships and growth opportunities between Asia and Africa.

This year, the forum is expected to address critical issues and identify opportunities in key sectors including infrastructure, real estate, manufacturing, digital technology and oil and gas, among others.

Ian Lee, regional director of Singapore Enterprise, the Middle East and Africa, recently called upon Yofi Grant, Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Investment Promotion Center (in Accra, on behalf of the organizers, to invite Mr. Grant to forum this year to discuss and present the Ghana's investments and trading opportunities for the world.

He said that Ghana is one of the best countries to invest in because of its political stability.

Mr Grant recalls that Ghana and Singapore have maintained good bilateral relations for many years and that officials from the two countries continue to cooperate in many areas of mutual benefits, including capacity-building and training, education and economic policy-making.

At the end of March 2018, the center had registered 42 projects from Singapore with an estimated value of $ 1.5 billion.

According to him, Ghana has the opportunity to network with more than 500 business leaders from top companies in Singapore.

"During the meeting, Ghanaian companies had the opportunity to communicate on one basis and listened to top people from the public and private sectors," he added.

Mr. Grant noted that Singapore is one of the best countries in the production of chocolate and that Ghana is one of the most important cocoa producing countries.

According to the GIPC CEO, the world is currently booming in terms of trade.

He said that Ghana has the best laws that protect companies and encouraged investors to make use of it.

Mr. Grant said that an Asia Business Council would be established in Singapore and would be managed by Enterprise Singapore and GIPC.

He explained that the Asian Business Council would be used as an outpost to gain access to huge investment opportunities and capital that exist in the South Asian region and outside of China.

"This is a partnership that we cherish at GIPC and it is dear to us", emphasized the GIPC CEO.

Mr. Grant appealed to Ghanaian companies to use this year's forum to promote trade and services between the two countries.
