SINGAPORE: A 21-year-old man is accused of assaulting an SMRT service ambassador at Raffles Place MRT station, the police said on Tuesday (August 28) in a press release.
On June 25 at 7:50 PM the police were told that a 69-year-old SMRT service ambassador had been attacked by a man, police said.
The employee, who performed audits on the station platform, advised the man not to eat inside the station.
However, the man did not follow and began to drink from his bottle, according to research.
When the SMRT employee advised him again, the man attacked the employee before he fled, police said.
The man will be charged on Wednesday for voluntary injuries to a public service provider, the police added.
If he is found guilty, he can be sentenced to a maximum of two years' imprisonment and / or receive a fine of up to S $ 5,000.
