BMW has a new roadster Z4, is smoother than the concept car

The BMW Z4 was the oldest car manufacturer in Munich. Generational changes are now underway and the new generation roadster will be presented by Concours d & # 39; Elegance's automaker in Pebble Beach, USA. The car will be unveiled under the baton of former chief designer Škoda, Jozef Kabaňa.

The new body shape still retains the proportions of the roadster, but at the same time creates a new style that can also be taken over by new car models. Very wide radiator grilles, a traditionally shaped lower bumper and new headlights are the characteristics of the new model.

There is, however, one major change from the predecessor. The stiff folding roof has disappeared because of the better weight distribution and the lower center of gravity is the new generation of canvas. The rear part of the roadster would like to remind that the new 8 Series Coupé is also part of the same wallet.

There were no free designers in the interior. Everything has a breakthrough as the latest car models. The air conditioning screen is, as in X5, between the exhaust. BMW also left the main elements of the audio system on the buttons. And it has not even removed the steering wheel from the iDrive.

The distribution of the elements leads to a balanced weight distribution between the axles, exactly half to half. Also expect to be the excellent driving characteristics where the rear-wheel drive roadster should be.

The first model is the Z4 M40i with six-seater under the bonnet. It will reach 250 kW (340 hp) and will supply the rear wheels with power. The rear axle has an electronically controlled M Sport differential. The acceleration per hundred costs only 4.6 seconds.

The first contact with the car will take place in Pebble Beach, followed by the Paris Motor Show in Paris and the sale will take place in the spring in 2019. Gradually the Z4 will add more power units.
