Volkswagen and Ford will work together on commercial vehicles

German and American car manufacturers are joining forces to reduce development and production costs.

Possible cooperation between the Volkswagen Commercial Vehicle Division (VW) and Ford's American competitor has caused daily care in the German Handelsblatt of the Hanks.

Employees fear that their production program could move to a US Ford factory in Turkey near Istanbul.

Thomas Sedran, the new head of the VW utility vehicle division, said in his leadership stories that production costs should be reduced. Collaboration with other partners must start with the production of the VW Bulli bus and VW T8 and Ford Transporter.

EU standards work together

Bertina Murkovic, the head of the raceboard, said she wanted the next generation to work here. With this starting point, the racing team is ready to work well with the new leadership.

The management of Volkswagen in June announced that its troops will be linked to US Ford in the development of commercial vehicles. Mutual partner exchanges are not planned. Cooperation will only focus on reducing development and production costs.

Commercial vehicle manufacturers also insist on stricter EU standards for the amount of carbon dioxide in the exhaust. They will apply from 2020.
