Bikesharing in Bratislava starts on 7 September

The costs of the introduction program consist of a subscription, which in this case is free and a credit of 1 euro. The subscription covers the journey of all users within 30 minutes.

The bikesharing in Bratislava under the brand Slovnaft BAjk will be launched on September 7th. 550 bikes are available at the start – most will be immediately on the streets, others will be on their way.

The bicycles are gradually brought into circulation, first through the districts Petržalka and the old town, then to Nové Mesto and Ružinov. According to city officials, 50 docking stations are currently being prepared and the number of docking stations is increasing by ten.

That is two-thirds of the planned number of 90 docking stations. The stations are installed continuously.

However, with the first bicycles in the streets of the city, residents and visitors of Bratislava can meet each other from September 3, when they are gradually deployed. This work, including the start of the system, takes about four days.

For the use of Slovnaft BAjk users pay 1 euro for introduction. Slovnaft and the city of Bratislava agreed on this symbolic compensation, given the expected traffic restrictions in the capital.

Both partners expect the remuneration to motivate residents and visitors of Bratislava to make more use of alternative forms of transport and therefore of bicycles.

The costs of the introduction program consist of a subscription, which in this case is free and a credit of 1 euro. The subscription covers the journey of all users within 30 minutes.

This means that if the user ends his trip within half an hour, he can use the service almost unlimited free of charge. Tariffs for next year will be introduced later. If the user does not spend his credit this year, he will also have it available in 2019.
