In the southern half of Slovakia there is a warning for high temperatures

A first warning against high temperatures was issued by the Slovak Hydrometeorological Institute (SHMÚ) for various districts in the southern half of Slovakia.

The warning covers districts from the far west to Rožňava and runs from 13:00 to 18:00.

The SHMU expects to reach a maximum air temperature of 33 to 34 degrees Celsius.

"High temperatures pose a potential threat to human health, physical activity and fire, and the air temperature indicated is uncommon at some point in time and area, but the risk of excessive body load for some people is high," adds the institute.
