Let's think back to the 74th birthday of the SNP, the celebrations will be greeted by concerts and news in the Rebellion Museum

Banská Bystrica, the center of the 1944 uprising, is also the year of the central celebration of the Slovak National Uprising, which takes place on 28 and 29 August in the SNP Museum area.

As it has become a tradition, the celebrations begin on the eve of the anniversary of the SNP on August 28 at 19:00 for the SNP Museum, with the solemn concert of the State Opera of Banská Bystrica. On this occasion, the prices of the SNP museum will be transferred to personalities or organizations that have years of support or cooperation with museum activities. In case of bad weather, the concert takes place in the opera house. This year, however, the program will start a little earlier. Specifically on Tuesday afternoon from 3 pm the ride of the period cycling squadron from Zvolen to Banská Bystrica.

The official part of the celebrations then begins on September 29 at 11 am in the course of the air force plane of the Slovak armed forces, a ceremonial ceremony and a pious act of laying wreaths with the participation of senior officials and invited guests of foreign delegations.

The ceremonial meeting with guest appearances and the program starts shortly before the 12th hour. The national anthem of the Slovak Republic is opened by a direct participant of the SNP V. Strmeňa and the military music of the armed forces of the Slovak Republic. Conversely, the conclusion of the official part should include the leap of parachutists, as well as musical tones in the performance of the military music of the OSSR together with the singer Juraj Benetin.

The program for the general public is then ready from the fourteenth hour. This includes FS Zemplín, rock band USA Air Force in Europe Touch & # 39; N Go, bandDružina, Russian singing ensemble Babkini grandchildren, Diabolské violin and Jan Orlická or Korben Dallas.

The accompanying program is insured throughout the day by the Slovak Republic's forces in the form of static and dynamic demonstrations. A military camp of military history clubs will also prepare a presentation of remote controlled models.

The SNP museum itself also comes with news, which of course is also freely available to the public during the afternoon parties on August 29 in the afternoon. During the celebration, the museum will introduce a touch-sensitive self-service terminal, which will be located in a non-traditional environment of the guerrilla party. This information kiosk is designed to approach the history of Partisan bunkers. At the same time, however, he will offer a military license, which can be sent by e-mail to his or her acquaintances.

At the same time, the museum presents a banknote of 0 Euro during the party with the SNP Memorial theme and this time also an armored train.

Traffic restrictions in the city center

The organization of celebrations and related security measures this year demands traffic restrictions in Banská Bystrica. From Tuesday 28 August, 22.00 hours until Wednesday 29 August, 15.00 hours, there is a ban on stopping in the streets of Cikkerov, Kuzmany and Kapitulská.

The streets of Kapitulská, Švantnerova, Cikkerova and Kuzmány are closed for car traffic on Wednesday 29 August from 6:00 to 15:00. Kuzmany Street will at this time be diverted from the national house to Hušták.
