In the case of the murder of investigative journalist Ján Kuciak and his fiancé, procedural actions are still being carried out.
"In the criminal case in question Procedures are being intensively continued to clarify the offense and punish the perpetrator or perpetrators. During the month of September, the public prosecutor of the Public Prosecution Service will keep the public informed of the findings and results of the criminal proceedings. During the criminal proceedings, the representatives of the European Parliament will be informed at the same time during their visit to Slovakia, "said Spokeswoman Andrea Predajňová of the public prosecutor on Tuesday against TASR.
"In view of the ongoing research, we will not comment at this stage on carrying out investigations or individual actions to prevent or obstruct the investigation. In particular, we emphasize that in the case of such serious crimes the detention of law enforcement authorities in the provision of information to the public is an absolute necessity, in this way the main purpose of the criminal procedure is achievedand this is the detection and punishment of perpetrators, "she added.
Ján Kuciak was an investigative journalist at the editors of Aktuality.sk, his fiancée Martina Kušnírová was an archaeologist. Young people killed on February 21, 2018 in their childhood home in Velka Maća.
