Edita Pfundtner is replaced with Mária Kolíková.
Edita Pfundtner becomes the new Secretary of the Ministry of Justice. He was appointed by the government on Wednesday. The current deputy of the National Council of the Slovak Republic for the ruling party of Most-Híd will replace the non-member Mária Kolíková.
The nomination was given to the head of the Gábor Gál (Most-Híd) department. Prime Minister Peter Pellegrini (Smer-SD) said before he met the cabinet that he respects this choice.
Pfundtner joins the ministry on Thursday (23 August). Kolíková was released early after the new head of the department was divided. Followed by former minister Lucia Žitňanská (Most-Híd), who left the government in March after the murder of journalist Jana Kuciak and his fiancé. Kolíková was responsible in particular for a large-scale judicial audit project.
He and Gál have known it for a long time
"He has been known by the Minister of Justice, Gábor Gál, since the university, and has been a colleague of the National Council of the Slovak Republic for a number of years, together with a long-standing political and professional cooperation." Edita Pfundtner at the Ministry, including taking over the efficiency of the legal system, "said Zuzana Drobová, spokesperson for the department.
In the past, Pfundtner was vice-chairman of the Constitutional Committee of the National Council of the Slovak Republic (2010-2012), later member (2014-2016). During this term she met in the Commission on Human Rights and National Minorities (2016-spring 2018), currently working in the European Affairs Committee and in the Committee on Economic Affairs. She is also a member of the permanent delegation of the SR National Council to the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly.
She has been a lawyer since 2004 and has worked in municipal politics as a deputy for the Bratislava-Nové Mesto City Council (since 2010). He graduated from the Faculty of Law at Comenius University in Bratislava and from the University of International and Public Relations in Prague. In the past, Pfundtner spoke of Most-Hid, currently it is a supporting member of this party.
