Georgia quickly took the lead. With 9 minutes played, apparently from lack of experience, Fabiš needlessly stumbled an opponent just outside the penalty area, but the free kick that followed was unsuccessful. The same player could have leveled two minutes later, but Tumma pushed the ball up and Fabiš sent the ball into the acrobatic position above the opponent’s goal. The Slovaks managed to capture the pass of the Georgians several times in the first half, but in neither case were they able to complete the counter-attack in the final phase. Only Moses, who came over from the top five, got a chance and the Slovaks went to the dressing room with one goal behind.

Even after the change of parties, the guests couldn’t develop more serious opportunities. The home team had no problems in the defense and on the contrary, at the end of regular playing time, they were able to increase their lead. After 75 minutes, after another great corner, Guliašvilim hit the ball all the way to Guliašvilim’s reach, who just couldn’t put it in the net. Three minutes later, however, Slovak goalkeeper Petráš capitulated for the second time – at the edge of the penalty area, Mekvabišvili, who was completely free, got the pass and scored the first. Georgia almost added a third hit, in the 83rd minute Mali pulled a solo counterattack and shot close to it. At the set time, after home goalkeeper Mamardashvili’s hesitation, Gono sank down, but Georgia failed to make it to third place.
