Irish Ryanair, the largest low-cost carrier in Europe, will further restrict the access of hand luggage in the aircraft in November. Passengers can only carry a small bag, while entering small boxes is reserved for those who have paid for boarding with priority. At the same time, the company reduces the costs for handing in small pieces of luggage.
Ryanair eventually adjusted its baggage policy in January, but this week the company warned, according to reports in the media, that the current regulation does not solve the problem of late charging procedures, because the available space in the cabinets above the seats can not be extended with hand luggage. , with which many passengers want to avoid extra costs in the case of luggage. There are long types on the door, because passengers carry too much hand luggage.
Passengers can enter a small bag, a computer bag or a backpack that can be stored under the seat in accordance with the new rules that will take effect in November. The allowable size of this small piece has increased slightly. The import of small suitcases will in the meantime only be reserved for those passengers who pay for boarding with priority. That costs six euros.
At the same time, Ryanair announced the introduction of a lower fee for handing in small pieces of baggage, the maximum mass of which is 10 kilograms. This will be new at eight euros instead of 25.
The management is convinced that most passengers will not feel the negative new rules
According to the belief that Irish society, which after years of rapid development has become one of the largest airlines on the old continent, most passengers will not feel the negative effects of the new rules. According to the company, about 30 percent pay for prioritized shipping, while 30 percent travel alone with a smaller bag than carry-on baggage.
Ryanair is convinced that the remaining 40 percent will either deliver baggage that weighs less than 10 kilograms, or that they will opt for prior boarding.
In the cabinets above the seats in the Boeing 737 boats from Ryanair can be about 100 small boxes, while the company will limit the number of people with priority to 95, which is about half of the allowed number of passengers on board.
They want to reduce costs and speed up boarding
Ryanair has long searched for the best baggage solution to reduce costs and speed up the boarding of passengers. The last change to the baggage policy was approved in January of this year. Since then, passengers are only allowed to carry a small piece of baggage on the plane while they have to board the other larger item first. If priority boarding is not completed, the personnel of the bag must pack it free of charge in the trunk of the aircraft with the remaining checked baggage before boarding the aircraft.
In January, the rule is that travelers with baggage charge a maximum of 25 euros instead of 35 euros, with a pre-booking of 10 euros and an additional surcharge for a high season and longer flights. The weight of the luggage was also allowed after the new 20 kilograms, while it was until 15 January.
Even more than luggage policy, gray hair has recently increased Ryanair's trade union activities in some European countries, which have organized a series of strikes in the middle of the summer season.
