Afghan president Ashraf Ghani has announced a live television broadcast on Sunday in a country that will start Monday and last during an Islamic religious holiday d al-Adha. Press offices of DPA and AP were informed.
Ghani gave a speech on the Independence Day of Afghanistan during a celebration of the 99th anniversary of his takeover from London. It was the second time the Afghan government had used such a call to announce a ceasefire at the time of the Islamic holidays called íd.
"The ceasefire can not be one-sided," he said.
The radical Taliban movement has not yet responded to the announcement.
The first militia militants of the Taliban indirectly recognized the beginning of June, when the Islamic festival of al-fitr was celebrated for three days, at the end of the holy month of Ramadan.
This cease-fire of June, the first country in the last 15 years, ended when Taliban militants refused the Afghan government's proposal to extend the three-day ceasefire and quickly resume the attacks.
