Air France and British Airways will suspend flights to and from Iran. The information was provided by the Austrian public radio ORF.
A French-Dutch spokesperson, Air France-KLM, said Thursday that this move has nothing to do with US sanctions against the Islamic Republic, but reflects the poor economic performance of the Paris-Tehran airline. The last flight from Iran is planned on 18 September.
British Airways also pointed to the current economic downturn of London-Tehran. The other flight of this company has to leave the Iranian airspace on 23 September.
