Migrants from the Diciotti ship can finally land

More than 100 migrants from the Diciotti ship, which are anchored on the fifth day in Sicily, can land on the mainland.

Most of them will take care of the Italian Catholic Church, part of which is occupied by Ireland and Albania. Italy's Interior Minister Matteo Salvini announced this evening.

Shortly before, the Italian media reported that the prosecutor in Sicily had begun a formal investigation into Salvini because of the detention of migrants on the Diciotti. He suspects him of "kidnapping, illegal detention and abuse of power". Salvini told ANSA today that it is a disgrace when an investigation is started against a minister who tries to protect the borders.
