The leader of the Islamic State (IS) in Afghanistan lost his life in the province of Nangarhar in the east of the country. This was announced on Sunday by the Afghan National Security Board (NDS).
Abu Saad Irhabi, an IS leader in a devastated war, died together with ten other members of a terrorist group during the air and land operations of Afghan and foreign troops on Saturday evening in a village in the Chugjani district. During the attacks on the two militant shelters a large number of heavy and light weapons were destroyed.
Irhabi was the fourth IS leader to be killed in the country since the group appeared in Afghanistan in early 2015.
The DPA recalls that the province of Nangarhar is the cradle of the IS in Afghanistan, with American and Afghan troops who intensely attacked this group this year.
