A police patrol in the Araby area would check a person at Vintervägen just after 7:30 pm if the bike on which he was driving had been stolen.
"The patrol was in the Araby area for security measures and they know the area well", says Stephan Söderholm at the police center in the South region.
When the police patrol stopped the cyclist, he ran away.
The police patrol ran into the man's head and, in connection with a handshake, he hit one of the police with a knife. Hugget met the police in his arm.
Pulled a gun against the knife man
The injured police colleague took out his weapon and let the man put the knife away. The knife was confiscated.
The perpetrator has been arrested. The event was classified in the first position as an attempted murder. The crime scene was closed while the police technicians worked with job locks on the site.
Just after 23 hours the work continued.
The police are interested in obtaining information or testimonies and calling the public to listen.
No report of injury
"We are currently not providing any other information about this", says Stephan Söderholm.
The head office in Växjö leaves no indication of the mismanagement of the polished police. The management center does not want to say anything about the damage.
Smålandsposten states that the injuries of the policeman are not life-threatening.
In connection with the incident, a 39-year-old man appeared loudly in the work of the police. The man was suspected of being hit by drugs and was taken as sampling.
