Look through the Green Painting of the Center Party ETC

Annie Lööf would like to & # 39; future optimist & # 39; want to mention, which is a positive word to think that environmental objectives will be achieved without political action. The Center Party is more of a saga party that could have delayed environmental research too long. The party expresses many wishes, but has few political proposals that support them.

Almost a week ago it was Annie Lööf's turn to investigate party leaders at SVT. Camilla Kvartoft and Anders Holmberg did well at the hearing and it was surprisingly good for SVT to lift both the climate and the forest.

Why the forest? Yes, because more than half of the endangered species in Sweden are found there, and 20 out of 30 ecosystem services in the forest are inadequate. Experts and the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency mean that we need to protect more forest if we want to achieve our environmental objectives, but it does not like the center party. The forest is solved as a solution for most of our climate problems, from housing to air and vehicle fuel, which entails enormous demands for future harvest. The vision of more harvests without environmental improvements reveals a truly dark picture of the future of forests when forestry is already inadequate today.

Everyone did not like SVT's question. "It is clear that Annie Lööf is a politician and not a forestry expert," wrote political commentator Lena Mellin about Aftonbladet. A remarkably demanding statement about a party that presents itself in both forests and biodiversity, with a party leader who also comes from a family of forest owners. The center party calls itself an environmental group and the green voice of the alliance, and although Lena Mellin does not know these questions, Annie Lööf should be.

First step for better forestry has increased art knowledge, but when the government proposed an inventory of art, the Center Party went to bed. They wanted to stop the inventory because it could have economic consequences for the forest owners. Instead of fighting for sufficient financial compensation, the party chose to fight against a better knowledge base.

"It sounds like you're back on the side of the forest owners compared to protecting species?", SVT asked. No, says Annie Lööf, who claims that forestry can be combined with high environmental benefits. However, she will not answer, but instead asks the question in the Center Party's growing desire for goals without action.

At the same level we also find the emissions of the aircraft, where the Center Party still claims that biofuels and future technologies are sufficient as a solitary solution – although researchers repeatedly note that the possible solutions are too far away. Even the industry itself does not believe it. The deeper you dig into the environmental policy of the Center Party, the better you understand that the party recently won the Earth's Friends Greenwash Award for misleading marketing and communication.

Like the icing on the cake wants the Center Party to build Eastern Connection, Bypass 2.0. Forbifart Stockholm is estimated to cost tens of billions of kroner, and now the Center Party wants to spend at least 18 billion euros on another highway in Stockholm, despite the fact that the project has already been condemned.

It does not have to be said to an environmental group – but we do not achieve fossil-free transport through important initiatives on new motorways.

The Center Party delivers important issues that affect both the climate and the environment, which in the long term will hardly benefit the countryside – something we have seen this summer. Then there is also a lot of politics that is not mentioned, such as the diesel subsidies from the Center Party for agriculture, billion budgeting of the environmental budget, and that they are one of the two parties that do not want to strengthen environmental legislation.

Annie Lööf says that we have to do many different things, and that "the climate does not have time to wait". At the same time, the few measures it is taking, such as biofuels, have already been broadly agreed. There is a clear contradiction between environmental objectives and harvesting forests today, but there is no contradiction between air pollution and biofuel – they are great to combine. The climate threat requires all tools in the box and the question is how many and powerful actions the parties have had. The election log of the Center Party is Forward. The question is which future they are on the way to.
