After the grounding of the Bernese airline Skywork on Wednesday evening, other companies had to fill the gap: Swiss flew Skywork customers abroad for 50 francs, Helvetic Airways flew on the day after the bankruptcy in Belpmoos.
Now another company marks the presence at Bern Airport: the flights from Bern to the Greek port of Preveza are served from Monday by the People & # 39; s. People & # 39; s is an Austrian airline. Until now, the small airline from Vienna served the Swiss airport St. Gallen-Altenrhein. This with success: the flight offer of the airline was extended this summer. More than 120,000 passengers use the airport on Lake Constance every year and with that the offer of the Viennese airline.
Competition for Helvetic?
Before the gap left by Skywork, there appear to be interested parties: Helvetic Airways currently wants to check whether the company takes over parts of Skywork. Helvetic Airways is the only airline in Bern-Belp that offers scheduled flights with Skywork. The Zurich-based company flies this summer from Bern to various airports in the Mediterranean countries. People & # 39; s is now a new player on the platform of Belpmoos.
