A serious traffic accident on the Grenzacherstrasse near the Tinguely Museum claimed a fatality at 2:20 PM on Wednesday. As the Justice and Security Department (JSD) announced, a truck and a bicycle were involved. The 70-year-old cyclist succumbed to his serious injuries at the scene of the accident.
According to previous findings, the truck caught the cyclist at the confluence of the black forest road and rolled over him. The exact state of affairs is currently being clarified. The JSD asks road users to bypass the area.

A breath test with the 43-year-old truck driver was negative, because the JSD continues writing. The Grenzacherstrasse had to be closed in the direction of the city center and the traffic was diverted.
Public transport was also affected during the accident registration. According to the Basel transport companies, the block has now been resolved.
